The Health Education Directory is looking to include programs in our directory that meet the criteria above. Does your university offer a major or equivalent that focuses on health education and/or health promotion? This includes a public or community health education program, or a school health education program as defined above.
Request to Participate
Public/Community Health Education Program: Any professional preparation program that 1) prepares students to meet the responsibilities, competencies and sub-competencies of a health education specialist and 2) offers at least minimum of 25 semester hours or 37 quarter hours in health education coursework leading to a health education degree.
School Health Education Program: Any professional preparation program that 1) provides a major in school health education to enable students to meet the responsibilities, competencies and sub-competencies of a health education specialist, 2) certifies students to teach health education in the public schools, 3) offers at least minimum of 25 semester hours or 37 quarter hours in health education coursework leading to a health education degree.
