The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Health Promotion and Education is a four to five year degree that requires both a competence in independent research and a broad understanding of the core competencies in health education. The coursework is designed to provide the knowledge and skills in which each health educator should be competent. It also offers students the flexibility to develop their own area of expertise. In addition to coursework, students must complete a dissertation on a topic in their chosen area of specialization.
