The Marymount University Health Education and Promotion (HEP) graduate program focuses on behaviors, environments, systems, and policies affecting health at various levels. The purpose of HEP is to positively influence the health behavior of individuals and communities, as well as the living and working conditions that impact their health. Courses include behavior change, research methods, theoretical framework, and foundations of public health concepts to guide students in developing health knowledge, attitudes, skills, and behavioral strategies. Students learn to plan, implement, and evaluate health promotion programs in a variety of settings, including non-profit organizations, community health agencies, health departments, government agencies, health clubs, hospitals, and corporations.
